I had a 2400 point game against Dom from the Vagabonds last night. I was trying a new list I had put together which in theory had a solid battle plan. The three units of squigs would advance, eat dwarves, die and explode to slow his advancement while my warmachines and magic picked him apart. By the time he reaches my lines the fanatics and big blocks on NG's with nets should be too much for him. Right? Wrong!
For starters this game plan doesn't work very well against an army with this much shooting as the squigs don't see combat in a healthy state. Secondly, don't send your fast cav in for support or the squig explosions will do far more damage to you than the dwarves. This was my own fault and something pretty obvious but with any luck after a few more games I'll get better with playing the list. Tempted to drop a doom diver to add in trolls though, but i'm just not convinced on running dwarves with a LD7 general :(
GG Dom, you played well.

Actually I think we made a mistake in that game: when the Squig bomb hit that combat with the 'sweepers', it probably should have just hit the combat and randomised the hits. It may not have made much difference, but it may have kept that comabt going for a while longer!
